Hamster Haul :)

a HAUL is when I gather a bunch of stuff I bought and tell you guys at once what they are. So here is a HAMSTER HAUL for you guys. If you want to see more of these hauls in either a video or blog, let me know and I will do them every time I go out shopping for my hamsters. ^^ ENJOY!
FYI: Everything was bought in KOREA at various locations. They can be found at HOMEPLUS, EMART, or the Dollar Store in South Korea. I do not know where else to get them in other countries, including USA.

This is a tiny water bottle that I think is perfect for younger hamsters. Very small in size and it also came with a piece of plastic that helps attach it to a cage.

This is a pink TINY hamster wheel. Also perfect for younger hamsters. I will be using this wheel when the hamsters are about 4 weeks and I get to introduce them to the wheel. :) Its so small that it wont be too heavy to run on. Im excited ^^

This is supposed to be a fish tank decoration but I think its perfect for a sand bath. :) So I bought it and will be sticking sand in it to use as a hamster sand bath. SO CUTE because its supposed to be a dinosaur shape. KEHE.

Requirements For Owning A Hamster

Hello Hamster Lovers.
I got a lot of questions on what items are needed for owning a hamster. So this is a list of things that I find necessary for a happy and healthy hamster. ENJOY!
1. Cage/Habitat: Now this can be any type of cage. Wire, aquarium, bin, etc. One thing I can not stress enough is CARDBOARD BOXES. Do not use anything paper related because the hamster will gnaw through it and run away.
2. Bedding: Aspen is the only type of shaved wood bedding that should be used. Any other type of wood can cause the hamster to lose fur. Shredded up tissue paper, carefresh, cobcorn are all alternatives. But I prefer ASPEN over all other beddings. Stay away from Cotton wool. Those are not digestible.
3. Food/Food Bowl: all pet stores have varieties of different types of food. There are mixed seeds, pellets, and treats. I like to use variety of everything. I will be posting another post on what fruits, veges, and other human foods are allowed for hamsters.
4.Water Bottle: Always have a water bottle for your hamster. This is one of the things that are a must for all hamster owners. Make sure you get a nice one that doesnt clog up. And check the ball (tip) regularly to see if its not dried out and clogged.
5.House/Hut: You can always improvise and make houses/huts out of cut up boxes such as tissue paper box. Or you can just buy inexpensive houses or huts from the pet store. Hamsters need a house to feel secure and safe when they are scared or sick.
6. Wheel: All hamsters need exercise whether your hamster is lazy or not. I never recommend a hamster ball but I do recommend getting a wheel. There are many types of silent wheels such as silent spinner or saucer wheel that are very quiet.

These are the bare minimal necessities for owning a hamster. Of course you can enhance your hamsters living style and happiness by purchasing toys, chew toys, etc. Everything depends on cage space and your personal preference. But this is the list that is bare minimum.

Pudding Hamsters

Pudding hamsters are a cross between a Campbell and a Winter White. It is not advised to breed a campbell and a winter white to get a pudding hamster because mixing these two breeds can cause the mother to have disproportionate sized babies and cause the mother to die.
Cross breeding should only be done by educated people that know a lot about genetics and hybrids with experience in breeding. :)

Pudding Hamsters have an unique coloring. Peachy body with an orange dorsal stripe. It has a Body and color of a campbell and the personality of a winter white. They are more known as a Pudding Winter White but are actually a Pudding Hybrid Hamster. So dont get discouraged when you see someone call it a Pudding WW.

Hard to find but beautiful coloring, these are the pudding hamsters.

"You Are My Darling Cherie"

Good Evening everyone. It's been a while since I made a video or a blog post and I want to apologize. I have been so busy with school that I really had no time to really make a nice video for you guys. I honestly was too busy to keep up with Darling's Taming Sessions and I feel bad. (DARLING is my robo hamster) But TONIGHT I decided to see if she still had it in her and I was pretty amazed by what I got to witness.
Darling Still lets me hold her and stroke her head. I then started rubbing her whole body with my index finger (usually she gets really scared when I do this) and I was surprised to see that she did not budge. She didnt mind me touching her. I was shocked that she hadnt forgotten anything. What a smart hammie.
I also tried to pick her up today. I have been avoiding this stage in taming because I did not want to scare her but today was the day she actually let me hold her. Of course, I had a lot of yogurt drops to help me. haha

I think I found the ultimate trick for taming a robo. I think you have to reward them AFTER they do a good deed. It must be RIGHT AFTER. So what I did was I would put my hand in front of her and she would run over my hand. If she touched my hand, then I let her nibble on the yogurt drop for a second or two. I then take the yogurt drop away. She is now TEMPTED to get on my hand because she knows I will reward her with a few more seconds of yogurt drops. So eventually she will sit in your hand and then I will give her the yogurt drop when she is on my hand. I got a shot of this beauty. ;D ENJOY!
